The photos say it all! It was a CIF-Southern Section Prelims event to remember at Mt. SAC on Saturday, November 15. It rained and did not let up the entire day. The course was shifted to a “rain course” that kept the contest to asphalt. This meant a better surface than mud, but runners still had to account for puddles and slippery surfaces.
Senior Toren Habbestad finished 4th overall in his D3 heat, advancing to finals next week. Our Girls’ Varsity Team–Juniors Isabella Wroblewski, Savannah Gonzalez, and Camille Ta-Perez; Seniors Brooke Boyd and Lorelai Pohl; Sophomore Sydney Van Stralen, and Freshman Brooke Habbestad–came in 2nd place as a team in their heat, with Isabella finishing 2nd overall. Lorelai, Sydney, and Brooke H. all PRd at this race! Great job, ladies! Our Lady Mustangs are currently ranked #8 in the state! The team will return to Mt. SAC next Saturday, November 22, for CIF-SS Finals. Go Mustangs!!
