Under the lights, full of adrenaline, and up against competitive teams across California, the Woodbridge Invitational is the perfect opportunity to run a fast time and the Yorba Linda Mustangs shined Saturday evening. Notable PRs from our freshman include Carissa Teran (19:44) and Lucas Dias (20:50) in their respective races. The Varsity (B-team) earned an 8th place finish lead by Maya Krishnan and was supported by several PRs from Roxane Fournier (19:55), Victoria Campbell (20:15), Katie Valdez (20:38), and Lucy Carter (20:57). A breakthrough race from Junior Eli Lemos, who ran a 34 second PR of 17:32. Neil Bondoc (15:49) finished in the top 25 for Varsity boys followed by stellar PRs from Brandon Nowland (17:11), David Van Dyke (17:39), and Lucas Demogines (17:51). The girl’s team had a special chance to race against the fastest teams in the Sweepstakes race. Leading the girls, Siena Palicke (17:01 PR) raced smart finishing in the top 25 and on her way to breaking 17:00. She was followed by Hayley Killion who broke 19:00 with a PR of 18:54. Overall, milestone times were broken on Saturday night making the Woodbridge course one they will always remember.
